Your Car Stinks…On Purpose

October 16, 20120 Comments

Hey, Ross Shafer here. What does your car’s problem SMELL LIKE? Has anyone every asked you that before? I did a program for Autozone and found out that is one of their first questions. Right. If you have a problem with your vehicle, the technicians at Autozone ask you questions like “what does it smell like?” “What does it feel like?” and “What does it sound like?” RIGHT! There are distinct smells & sounds associated with car problems. For example…if your car smells like rotten eggs or sulfur, it could be a bad Oxygen sensor or a plugged PCV valve. If you car sounds like it’s “chirping” from the engine compartment…it’s likely a loose or broken transmission mount. This is WEB-MD for your car! Want to try it for yourself? Go to the www.autozone.com and click on Troubleshooting.  Autozone understands that you and I aren’t car experts…so they’ve made it easy for US to communicate an issue with our touch, sight, and smell…and in the process Autozone has differentiated themselves from other parts stores. Have a comment? Please leave it. This is Ross Shafer for the RR.
