How to “Make it Snow Money”

December 18, 20120 Comments

Hi, this is Ross Shafer and I want you to stay with me because I have a metaphor success story that applies to you! I’m reporting today from Gondola #1 in Vail, Colorado. Vail is one of the world’s most desirable ski resorts. People spend thousands of dollars just to get here…and when they do…they expect to see a lot of Colorado’s fabled snow. We are in a 2-year drought here in Colorado and the snow isn’t what it should be. But, Vail will NOT be deterred by this. Vail has dozens of snow-making machines all over the mountain so that they can still meet their customer’s expectations; even if the real “white stuff” isn’t cooperating. To quote one of the long-time snow making technicians on the mountain, “I’ve been here about 13 years and we aim to provide a quality skiing surface no matter what mother nature throws at us.” And even if the snow is fake, people are having a great time out here.”

See, Vail is doing everything they can to meet their customer’s expectations. Look, this is how it applies to you. If you’re getting hung and not able to provide your very best service or product to a supplier, a client, a customer, then find a way to “make it snow” for them. Make it snow anyway! They will see that you are trying to meet their expectations. Make it snow!

This is Ross Shafer reporting from…oh wait…it’s really snowing now. Double Diamonds here we come!
